The Monti Aurunci Park is the most southern Park of the protected natural areas of Lazio region. Extending for 19.374 km, it embraces 10 cities in two different provinces: Ausonia, Esperia, Pico, Pontecorvo (province of Frosinone) and Campodimele, Formia, Fondi, Itri, Lenola, Spigno Saturnia (in the province of Latina).    

Its territory is very heterogeneous, varying from hills to peaks on the coast. Just think about Mount Petrella, the highest peak of the park (1.533 mt). 

The Aurunci chain is famous for being the only chain of the region to directly overlooking the sea from its peaks. A fascinating landscape, where wild nature leaves place to small villages. Modern cities like Fondi and Formia meet ancient traditions of shepherds and farmers.  

A real paradise more and more appreciated by excursionists looking for the beauty of paths in the nature. 

The area is of high environmental interest offering a varied vegetation, characterized by kilometers of beeches, oaks, corks and grasslands, along with more than 1,300 species of flowers (fifty only orchids) that have been attracting researchers and botanists for years.   

Added to this is the variety of wild animals such as the peregrine falcon, the kite or the puzzard. 

The park is also rich with culture, history, architecture along with a unique gastronomic heritage: from honey to olive oil, peppers, meats, cheese and wine.

Products that keep being produced by a small group of entrepreneurs carrying a unique knowledge from generation to generation.
